Strikes fail to affect NU exam schedule

National University (NU) authorities have decided to hold their scheduled examinations on Wednesday, like the past few days, despite a series of strikes.

The examinations scheduled for Wednesday will be held as planned, a notice issued by the university said on Tuesday.

BNP has called nationwide strikes on Tuesday and Wednesday.

Examination for Electronics and Communication Engineering (ECE) part-3 (5th Semester) for the university’s 2011 academic year was held amid the strike on Tuesday. The examination for ECE part-4 is scheduled for Wednesday.

A total of 65 candidates are expected to appear for the examination and they will sit for their test in Dhaka’s only centre, Examination Controller Mohammad Bodruzzaman said.

The National University also held examination on Monday during Hifazat-e Islam’s strike.
