A Sirajganj court on Monday afternoon gave death sentence to one Auwal Musulli, 42, for killing his six-year old nephew. 0 3 0 Sirajganj Additional District and Sessions Judge Umme Kulsum also ordered life imprisonment for two others in the case. Auwal Musulli was from Belkuchi Upazila’s Tamai village in the district. His nephew was also from the same village. The two sentenced for life are – Kamal Hossain, 25, son of Khoshman Ali from Tangail’s Ghatail, and his brother in-law Samej Uddin, 24, son of Shaher Ali from Tangail’s Salengka. The convicts were present at court when the verdict was pronounced. Maksudul Haque Musulli was killed in Tangail on May 8, 2010 following a family dispute, state Additional prosecutor Sirajul Islam said. The body was found a day after the killing from under a bridge in Ghatail. The murder suit was filed by victim’s father Sarwar Hossain Musulli against the three. Lawyer said, the convict on death row was also fined TK 10,000 while his two other accomplices were fined Tk 5,000 each. Failing to make the payment will result in six more months of imprisonment. The two accomplices were also sentenced to three additional years of imprisonment and fined Tk1000 each for concealing the body.
