3 bodies recovered from Padma


Police have fished out three bodies from the Padma river missing since Sunday’s boat capsize in Rajshahi
Police said a small boat, with at least 18 passengers, had capsized while returning from Padma Char around 6pm on Sunday.

Chargat Police Station OC Abdur Razzak told bdnews24.com bodies of Mukti, 11, Ashik, 13, and Rafiqul Islam, 65, were recovered.

He said Mukti and Ashik were children of Aminul Islam of Sardar village.

Razzak said eight-year-old Turin was still missing.

He said several passengers of the boat had swam ashore and some were rescued by the locals after the boat sank.

Local administration and MP Shahriar Alam are supervising the rescue.
