India, Nepal mourn lost lives

India and Nepal have condoled Wednesday’s loss of lives of Savar building collapse.

 
Nepal’s President Ram Baran Yadav, Chairman of the Council of Ministers Khil Raj Regmi and Foreign Minister Madhav Prasad sent condolence messages to the Bangladesh’s President, Prime Minister and Foreign Minister respectively.

They expressed their deep sorrow and sympathies to the families of the victims and the people of Bangladesh as well.

India’s External Affairs Minister Salman Khurshid in a message said they were ‘deeply distressed’ to learn the ‘Rana Plaza’ collapse from where more than 200 bodies have been recovered so far.

“On behalf of Government and the people of India, I convey our heartfelt sympathies and condolences to the bereaved families who have lost their near and dear ones in this tragic accident,” the message read.

The nine-storey building grounded a day after cracks appeared. More than 1000 have been injured while many more feared trapped inside the rubble.

Bangladesh is observing national mourning on Thursday while rescue operations are going on.
