Train derails in Dhaka

Two carriages of a container train went off the rails near Banani's Sainik Club area in the capital on Thursday morning.

  

But that did not affect the rail link, officials said.

The train left Kamalapur Railway Station for Chittagong at 11:35am, Railway Inspector (traffic) Humayun Kabir told bdnews24.com. “The train services have not been affected .”

Kabir however could not shed light on the cause of the derailment.

He however, could not reveal the reason behind the incident.

Five people were injured in the derailment, officials said.
