The 93rd birth anniversary of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and National Children's Day will be observed here in a befitting manner as elsewhere across the country.
The three days observance programmes chalked out by the local
district administration will begin on March 15 through displaying
mobile cinema show titled 'Chiranjib' (Immortal) Bangabandhu at
various points of the town.
On March 16, recitation of poems on Bangabandhu, art and
patriotic song competitions will be held at Shishu academy.
On March 17, local district administration, political
parties, Awami League and its front organizations and various
socio- cultural organizations will place floral wreaths at the
portrait of Bangabandhu at local Ambica Maidan in the morning. A
children's rally will also be held at the same place.
A centrally arranged Milad Mahfil will be held at Shah Farid
Dargah mosque and special prayers will be offered at mosques,
temples and churches. A voluntary blood donation camp will also
be organized at Ambica Memorial Hall.
In the evening, a discussion meeting on the life and works
of Bangabandhu will be held at local Kabi Jasimuddin Hall.
A number of sub-committees has been formed to make the three
days programme a success.
