SAVAR: Police arrested wife of Sohel Rana, owner of the collapsed building Rana Plaza in Savar, from Shahibagh area of Savar municipality for interrogation on Saturday.
The arrestee was identified as Mitu Akter, 25.

Officer-in-charge (OC) Asaduzzaman of Savar Police Station said they arrested Mitu from her father’s house at Shahibagh at about 1.00am for interrogation.

“We have detained her either to create pressure on Rana to surrender or to know his whereabouts,” added the OC.

Earlier, law enforcers detained four relatives of Sohel Rana for quizzing.

Eight-storey building Rana Plaza owned by Sohel Rana, which housed five garment factories and a textile factory, collapsed on Wednesday.
