The fire at Dhaka’s Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport that broke out at a warehouse in the cargo village at around Friday noon took 10 fire fighting units two hours to be brought under control.

Fire Service and Civil Defence officials confirmed to bdnews24.com about the situation. However, flights at the airport were reportedly unaffected due to the fire.

“Since the one-storied warehouse wasn’t enough, works have begun for a second floor. Welding works were on. It is thought that the welding might have caused the fire.”
However, fire service officials said it was tough to specify anything without investigation.
Courier Service United Post official Anwar Hossain said usually, goods are loaded in the warehouse on Friday and from Saturday, delivery begins. “Most of our couriers were gutted in the fire.”
A fireman Ziauddin said no one was hurt in the fire.
