We don’t want confrontation: PM


Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina Thursday said “we don’t want confrontation in our country I ask the opposition leader to stop this violence and Shibir not to save the war criminals”. She made the disclosure while addressing a discussion meeting in Bangabandhu International Conference Centre marking the historic 7th March. Addressing the Shibir leaders and activists she said “Just go through the internet to see what these war criminals did in 1971 and what kind of oppression they did.” The Shibir men are putting their lives at risk just for saving the war criminals who committed crimes against humanity in 1971, she also said. There is no scope to stop the process of the war criminals trial, she added. Presided over by deputy leader of the House and AL presidium member Syeda Sajeda Chowdhury the programme was addressed among others by agriculture Minister Matia Chowdhury, AL presidium member Sheikh Fazlul Karim Selim, Mohammad Nasim, AL general secretary and LGRD and Cooperatives Minister Syed Ashraful Islam, AL joint secretary Mahbubul Alam Hanif, Foreign Minister Dr Dipu Moni, state minister for LGRD and Cooperatives Jahangir Kabir Nanak, Dhaka city AL general secretary Mofazzal Hossain Chowdhury Maya, Ahmed Hossain, BM Mozammel Huq, Abu Syed Al Mahmud Swapan and Ilias Uddin Mollah.
