Fakhrul, Rizvi, Farroque, Khoka held

In a raid Monday on BNP central office at Naya Paltan in the capital police detained BNP Acting Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir, Joint General Secretary Ruhul Kabir Rizvi, Chief Whip Zainul Abdin Farroque, Joint General Secretary Amanullah Aman, former Home Minister Altaf Hossain Chowdhury, Chairperson's Adviser AZM Zahid Hossain, BNP leader Habibul Islam and Vice Chairman Sadeque Hossain Khoka. The detention of Mirza Fakhrul was made at around 6:09pm Monday. The detention of Rizvi was made at around 6:30pm. The detention of Farroque and Khoka was made at around 6:45pm. Police also captured Mostafizur Rahman Babul and M Shahjahan. Meanwhile, the High Court granted 8 BNP top leaders including Mirza Fakhrul 4 weeks' interim bail.
