President's condition unchanged

Health condition of President Zillur Rahman has remained unchanged and he is being treated under intensive observations of specialized physicians at Mount Elizabeth Hospital in Singapore. President Rahman's son and ruling Awami League lawmaker Nazmul Hassan Papan, who was beside the president's hospital bed, told BSS by phone that doctors began to remove water from his lunge as his condition stabilized a little. "He is suffering from severe lung infection . . . doctors started removing waters from his lung as his condition stabilized a little and he is being treated at a cabin and is being given oxygen," Papan said. Meanwhile, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has urged the countrymen to seek doa of almighty Allah for early recovery of ailing President Zillur Rahman. Special prayer was offered in all mosques after Magrib prayers and in other places of worship this evening. President Rahman, 85, was admitted to Mount Elizabeth Hospital this morning in line with suggestions of CMH's physicians for better treatment. President's press Secretary AKM Nesar Uddin Bhuiyan earlier said specialist doctors of different departments of the hospital started President's treatment just after he had arrived in Singapore by an air ambulance this morning. Earlier, President Rahman was admitted to Combined Military Hospital (CMH) at Dhaka cantonment with respiratory complaints on Saturday night. Meanwhile, Bangabhaban issued a press note about Presidents' health condition and treatment this evening. The Press note said President Zillur Rahman left Dhaka on boarding an Air Ambulance of Mount Elizabeth Hospital at 10.45pm yesterday (Sunday). It said he (the President) arrived at Changi International Airport in Singapore at 5am today (Monday). After arrival at the airport, he went to Mount Elizabeth Hospital and got admitted there, the note added. All necessary medical investigations and treatment of President are going on at the hospital, the note said and added that the President has been under intensive observations of specialized physicians of different departments of the Hospital. Health condition of President Zillur Rahman has remained unchanged, the Press note said. Rahman, who celebrated his 85th birthday on Saturday, assumed the office of the President in 2009.
