Four people were killed and 15 others injured in clashes between Jamaat-Shibir men and law enforcers in Purba Delua area of Ullapara upazila of Sirajganj district and Kolaroa upazila of Satkhira district during hartal hours on Monday, the second day of Jamaat sponsored 48-hour hartal.

SIRAJGANJ: Jamaat-police clashes left one dead and 15 injured, including 2 bullet-hit, in Purba Delua area of Ullapara upazila of the district in the morning.
The deceased was identified as Shibir activist Mahfuz, 22.
The injured were admitted Ullapara General Hospital.
Ullapara Thana OC Biman Kumar Das said: “The clashes erupted at 10:00am as police obstructed when Jamaat-Shibir men brought out procession with sticks in support of hartal. At that time picketers pelted brick-chips targeting police that triggered a clash. Police fired shots to disperse the picketers, leaving one dead and 15 injured.
The local administration imposed section 144 in the area.
SATKHIRA: Two siblings were killed and 20 more injured, including 3 bullet-hit, in Kolaroa upazila of the district during a clash between Jamaat-Shibir men and Border Guard Bangladesh members on Sunday.
The deceased are Ruhul Amin, 45, Arab Billah,38, hailed from Kamarali village of the upazila.
Of the injured, 3 received bullet injuries. The condition of injured Shamrul Rahman is very critical. The injured are taking treatment at different hospitals of the district.
Section 144 has been imposed in Kolaroa upazila to bring the situation under control, sources said.
